The Young Minds Big Ideas Conference will be held from 4-6th August with workshops covering the basics of business creation including pitching, public speaking, branding, marketing, website design, social media, funding and more.
General Manager Planning, Place & Community David Kerr said Council supports this push to create employment opportunities for Northern Beaches’ youth.
“Young Minds Big Ideas is a unique and very affordable opportunity that gives young people the skills to put their innovative ideas into practice and start a business that offers both financial and social benefit,” Mr Kerr said.
Keynote speaker Jack Delosa, founder of The Entourage, has twice been named one of Australia’s Top 10 Entrepreneurs Under 30 by Dynamic Business Magazine & SmartCompany and has been listed on the BRW Young Rich List since 2014.
Some of Australia’s most inspirational social enterprises will be running workshops. Presenters include Art of Communicating, Y Vote, Basic Bananas, The Frank Team, Digital Storytellers, Start Some Good and Northern Beaches Community College.
Great prizes are on offer including a $1,000 cash prize from Council for the business idea which best reduces waste in our community.
