Pilates instructor and former dancer Kathryn Bannon Reeves is passionate about helping women to become the best version of themselves through movement.
She tells COVERED. how she can help them on this journey.
“I created Pop Up Pilates after finding a gap in the market when I was refocusing my mind and body after the birth of my baby,” Kathryn explains.
Having taught Pilates on the Northern Beaches for the last few years, her vision was to create a space where both men and women could benefit from a regular Pilates program while mixing in some cardio and circuit training.
“I only have one prerequisite for attending any of my classes, to come and have some fun. If you are having fun, we are going to work well together,” she adds.
Pop up Pilates, in Pittwater Road, North Manly, is a boutique studio with a difference.
“I only take three clients per class so I can tailor to each individual’s needs and goals. We work circuit style between Reformer, Matwork with small apparatus and the killer weapon - Barre.
“I am deeply passionate about getting people moving properly. When we move better we feel better and who doesn’t want that?” asks Kathryn.
She says Joseph Pilates had a famous quote that sums up why everyone needs to keep moving.
“If at the age of 30 you are stiff and out of shape, you are old. If at 60, you are supple and strong, then you are young.”
Kathryn believes a Pilates program that works on correcting body alignment and increasing strength and range of movement, is HUGE in helping to increase mobility and balance throughout the body.
Kathryn also holds free monthly community Pop Up classes around the Northern Beaches. “My vision is to get more of us moving and feeling better in both body and mind. Oh …and to have great abs, arms and asses too,” she smiles.
