Looking out over turquoise waters towards picturesque Shelly Beach The Bower Restaurant has spot few others can match.
Combined with delicious fresh menu offerings for breakfast and lunch – it is simply too hard not to choose this family-run restaurant when it comes to a morning eating out.
The Bower restaurant is owned and operated by husband and wife Hartmut – Hardie - and Lidia Schacker and their team.
The aim was to open a restaurant with an emphasis on good food and service in a relaxed setting – and it certainly ticks all the boxes on that score.
The beautiful ocean front location directly in front of cabbage tree bay is an ever changing panorama of entertainment for diners.
The menu changes on a regular basis to reflect the best available produce using both local and organic growers wherever possible. And breakfast and brunch are perfect times to enjoy the setting and the relaxed vibe of the area.
Weekday breakfast specials run from 8am to 10am and these include tempting dishes like the Breakfast Salad – a mixture of poached eggs, red radish, cauliflower, tomato, toasted seeds, grated halloumi and market leaves with tahini dressing, the avocado on sourdough with roasted cherry tomato, dukka, coriander and lemon or the Hawkesbury free range poached eggs on sourdough with bacon or avocado plus a coffee or tea for just $20.
For those wanting a lighter eating option, there is country sourdough or gluten=-ree toast with coffee or tea for $10.
The full breakfast menu also has seasonal fruits and Bircher muesli with organic yoghurt, grated apple, poached rhubarb, fruits and apple sorbet and is available from 8am to 1130am.
While brunch, that runs from 930am to 1130am tempts diners with the full experience of the Breakfast Burger. Double bacon, fried egg, gruyere, avocado, crispy lettuce, kimichi mayo on a milk bun and served with fries. The Miso Salmon combines poached eggs with miso salmon on sourdough and topped with avocado and goats cheese.
There are also seasonal fruits and Bircher muesli with organic yoghurt, grated apple, poached rhubarb, fruits and apple sorbet. For those wanting a lighter eating option, there is country sourdough or gluten free toast, or banana bread served with organic yogurt.
And the kids are not forgotten with pancakes and a kids breakfast to choose from - both for just $10. The Five Senses coffee, with or without breakfast, is a firm favourite.
