Harbord Diggers is celebrating spring with the return of its popular free Family Fun Days, with the first event set for Sunday 25 September.
The free Family Fun Days will be held monthly throughout the warmer months at the new look club venue, with a wealth of family entertainment on offer including a jumping castle, face painting and giant kids games on the lawn.
Dale Hunt, General Manager of Harbord Diggers, is pleased with the positive feedback received about the temporary Diggers and is delighted to be able to relaunch the popular family days at the club aimed at local families.
“Now that the warmer weather is upon us we wanted to bring back free family entertainment to enable local parents to enjoy a day out with their kids,” said Mr Hunt.
“While we are busy developing our intergenerational new club on the western end of the site, our new look club venue on the sunny northern side, is open seven days a week and delivering on its aim to provide a taste of things to come.
“In addition to our rooftop bar and restaurant Gio, we have a local providores store with a range of boutique products and have downstairs dining options with our Dig Inn Café & Bar and food caravan, Diggers Diner,” he explained.
With the club under redevelopment, the Family Fun Days this year will be held on the lawn area adjacent to the club’s new Dig Inn Café, with plenty of room for the kids to run around and enjoy the entertainment on offer.
“One of our key goals when we launched the new look temporary venue was to ensure we had
space for families to bring their kids to the Diggers as we have long been the destination of choice for Northern Beaches families.
“Now the majority of the demolition has taken place adjacent to our temporary venue space, we have developed a great lawn area for the kids where we have giant games including snakes and ladders, twister and connect four, which will be part of the family fun day entertainment each month,” he added.
In addition to the free family fun days, the club will continue to host free monthly Machines and Macchiatos events and are planning Sunday Sessions with live DJs from October at Gio.
“The arrival of spring will also see some great new events come to fruition and we will be pleased to roll these out over the coming months in time for the hot summer weather.
While we can’t reveal too much yet, what we can say is that there will be no better place to enjoy top-notch cocktails, refreshing beers and great food in the sunshine, than at the Diggers,” concluded Mr Hunt.
The September Harbord Diggers Free Family Fun Day will be held on Sunday 25 September from 12pm to 3pm. The next Family Fun Day events will be held on Sunday 30 October and Sunday 27 November 2016.
